Estelle Tjipuka – E-merge Coaching

Founder:

Can you share what initially drew you to leadership and transformation coaching, and how has this journey shaped your approach as a corporate leader?

Since the beginning of my corporate journey in 1997, I have been deeply inspired by the transformative power of leadership not only in driving business success but also in shaping lives. I witnessed firsthand how the mindset of a single leader could inspire teams, catalyze change, and achieve extraordinary outcomes.

Along the way, I was privileged to work with exceptional leaders who mentored and molded me into the professional I am today. Their profound impact on my journey ignited a passion within me to pay it forward by nurturing and empowering emerging leaders. This calling led me to Executive and Transformational Coaching, where I discovered the incredible potential of guiding others to unlock their capabilities and achieve their full potential.

My journey has reinforced my belief that leadership is not defined by a title but by a responsibility—a commitment to serve, inspire, and uplift others. As a leader and coach, this perspective has shaped my approach, emphasizing authenticity, empathy, and empowerment. I am dedicated to creating environments where individuals can thrive, knowing that this foundation ultimately drives sustainable results and meaningful change.

What have been your most rewarding moments on this journey?

Some of the most rewarding experiences on this journey have been witnessing profound transformations—personal, professional, and organizational.

As an Executive and Transformational Coach, guiding clients in middle management from uncertainty to thriving in executive leadership roles has been particularly fulfilling, as I’ve seen them develop self-confidence, refine their strategic thinking, and step into their full potential.

Coaching individuals on financial wellness has also been incredibly impactful, watching them embrace financial discipline and achieve life-changing results.

Lastly, the overwhelming response to my bestselling book, Breaking Barriers, with over 4,000 book sales, has been deeply humbling. As a coaching tool, the book touched the lives of thousands both locally and globally, empowering readers to break through their limitations and embrace their potential. These moments reaffirm my mission to inspire growth and transformation, knowing the impact extends far beyond what I can personally witness.

How do you define impactful leadership, especially in today’s evolving business environment?

Impactful leadership in today’s business environment is about inspiring, influencing, and empowering teams to achieve exceptional results while fostering trust, growth, and resilience. It goes beyond managing tasks to creating a compelling vision, aligning it with organizational goals, and mobilizing others to pursue it with passion.

In a rapidly evolving world, impactful leaders must be emotionally intelligent, adaptable, and empathetic, fostering a culture of inclusion and innovation. Authenticity and transparency are key to building trust and credibility, while a commitment to lifelong learning ensures they remain equipped to navigate modern complexities.

Ultimately, impactful leadership balances the “head” and the “heart.” It combines strategic foresight to anticipate challenges with a human-centric approach to lead with compassion and purpose. This balance drives organizational success and leaves a lasting legacy by uplifting those they lead.

In 2024, E-merge Coaching achieved significant milestones by engaging and coaching over 2,607 individuals through group coaching, one-on-one sessions, and impactful speaking engagements. We partnered with 22 corporate institutions, delivering tailored coaching and leadership solutions. These achievements underscore our commitment to making a meaningful and transformative impact within our sphere of influence.

From your experience as a corporate leader, what key areas could be changed to enhance the culture of leadership in Namibia?

In Namibia, we need to cultivate a leadership culture rooted in mentorship, diversity, and innovation.

First, structured mentorship programs should be prioritized to develop future leaders. Mentorship has been a cornerstone of my journey; I am who I am today because of the mentors who believed in me and shaped my growth. Providing similar opportunities for emerging leaders is critical to national progress.

Second, diversity must be actively championed. Women and underrepresented groups must have equitable access to leadership roles, as their unique perspectives bring immense value to decision-making.

Finally, we need to embrace entrepreneurial thinking and digital transformation to align with global advancements. Entrepreneurship is the backbone of our economy, and intentional efforts to nurture and empower entrepreneurs will drive sustainable growth.  As leaders, we must create environments where bold ideas are encouraged, and individuals are empowered to execute them.

As the author of the bestseller Breaking Barriers, what advice would you offer to young women who wish to excel in corporate leadership?

To young women aspiring to leadership, my advice is simple but powerful: embrace your uniqueness and trust in your abilities. Don’t wait for permission to take up space in rooms where decisions are made. Invest in continuous learning, build a strong network, and find mentors and coaches who can guide you.

It’s also important to develop resilience because the journey will have challenges, but these challenges will shape you and build your character. Above all, always lead with integrity and compassion, as these qualities will ensure your impact extends far beyond your position.

Since embarking on entrepreneurship in 2013, what have been your key learnings?

Entrepreneurship has been one of the most transformative journeys of my life. After 18 years in corporate, I took a bold step in 2013, acquiring the master franchise for Kauai Namibia, a health-focused quick-service food chain. I successfully ran this business for seven years before selling it in March 2020, paving the way for my coaching and consulting business, E-merge Coaching, which I launched the same year. This venture has allowed me to focus on creating real societal impact through leadership development and transformation.

Through these experiences, I’ve learned the power of resilience to keep going when the road gets tough and the importance of adaptability in navigating uncertain markets. I’ve also come to value authentic relationships and their critical role in business success. I’ve learned that success requires a willingness to take risks, learn from failures, and keep evolving.

Entrepreneurship has deepened my understanding of financial discipline and the significance of strategic planning. Most importantly, I’ve realized the profound importance of aligning my business with a deeper purpose. When your work is tied to a mission greater than yourself, it sustains you through challenges and inspires others to rally behind your vision.

Ultimately, my entrepreneurial journey has taught me that success is not just about achieving personal goals it’s about creating a lasting impact and transforming the world around you.
