Taimi Itembu is a citizen of Namibia, she brings a diversity of experience in public, private and the civil society sectors. Her career spans over 14 years working with governments from across the continent.
She is a seasoned external affairs professional having engaged leaders, forged lasting partnerships and networks with governments and multinational organizations both on the African continent and globally. She has served as the strategy lead for international partnerships and outreach across industries of education, infrastructure, trade and energy.
As the Deputy Country Manager for ExxonMobil, one of the oldest and leading energy and exploration companies in the world, she is championing the Africa strategy and the local regulation and advocacy, the company’s and the industry’s negotiation efforts to protect Namibia’s resources and the company’s investment by stewarding a conducive operational environment with government.
She is a graduate of Harvard University with a Master’s in Public Policy, holds a BA in Political Science and Psychology from St Francis Xavier University and is a graduate of windhoek international school IB program.
Closest to her heart is her work with Special Olympics where is the Chairperson of the Africa Leadership Council which serves as the strategic and advisory arm of Special Olympics Africa.
